Emergency COVID 19 Response at Koshi & Madhesh Province
DONOR: V5 TECHSOL, BANGLORE, INDIA- “Effective case management by strengthening Isolation centers and Ground Crossing Points (GCPs) management for Rapid Response and Preparedness against COVID-19” intends to implement a twofold COVID-19 response and priority to population facing additional vulnerabilities including women, children, elderly and persons with disabilities, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of two GCPs Kakarbhitta, Jhapa and Rani Biratnagar, Morang and Madhesh province. The screening and testing at GCPs help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by early detection and provides an opportunity to educate returnee migrant and their families about COVID-19 and ways to remain safe. Hence, the project envisions to support the Government in their ongoing interventions at the targeted health desk with the provision of health response support, strengthening the screening and recording-reporting of the migrants to further capacitate the government response for combating COVID-19. supported COVID 19 materials PPE set with essential equipment’s to 40 Health Facilities at Madhesh Province and Koshi Province. More than 40,000 surgical masks and sanitizer 2000 liters have been distributed in Madesh Province and Koshi Province.

DONOR: USAID local works Saptari on limitations and challenges in the health insurance scheme and social security scheme programs was done at Agnisair, Tilathikoiladi, Hanumannagar and kanchanrup palika among 217 household surveys, 4 FGD, and 30 KII with related government stakeholder. The Social Health Security Program (SHSP) is a social protection program of the Government of Nepal that aims to enable its citizens to access quality health care services without placing a financial burden on them. The households, communities and government are directly involved in this program. SHSP helps prevent people from falling into poverty due to health care costs i.e., catastrophic expenditure due to accidents or disease by combining prepayment and risk pooling.
KHDC Health Camp at Morang & Jhapa Districts, Koshi Province.
Kidney Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes and Cardiovascular disease in Community of Nepal (KHDC-Nepal) KHDC health camp: More than 230 people received service from that health camp, and a total of 132+ families received new and old clothes, as well as mosquito supanet in Gramthan. A total of 1873 clothes were distributed during that program.

Till date, it has reached over 130,000 individuals in Dharan city and its surrounding Sunsari, Morang and Jhapa districts in Eastern Nepal, providing counseling, treatment, and follow-up for those who tested positive on screening. Currently this program is being conducted over different wards of Mechinagar municipality, Jhapa in collaboration with Mechinagar municipality and in Damak, Jhapa in collaboration with Damak municipality and over 13,000 populations have been screened and followed up in total of these areas.
We have been trying to reach more people through this program aiming at scrutinizing the chronic disease conditions (NCDs) that remain hidden in the general population in our community. With this program we are able to control the disease before it develops into its grave form. By this means, all the burdens that are brought by the diseases are controlled beforehand. This program remains a gateway for the general population to benefit with the consultation with Prof. Sharma, who has been actively involved since its foundation.

Three days survey training was organized by Budhiganga Rural Muncipality about health and nutrition with technical support of HEARD Nepal. To increase awareness about proper nutrition, Immunization, WASH and healthy eating habits among vulnerable populations, including pregnant and lactating women, infants, and young children.
Dengue awareness and spray program at Aurahi Rural Municipality, Siraha District, Madhesh Province.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has spread rapidly in recent years to all regions of the World Health Organization. Dengue virus is mainly transmitted by female mosquitoes of the Aedes Aegypti species and to a lesser extent by Ae. albopictus. These mosquitoes are also carriers of chikungunya, yellow fever and Zika virus. Dengue is widespread throughout the tropics, with local differences in risk influenced by climatic parameters as well as social and environmental factors. Team of 18 people was formed. Dengue spray program was carried out in all the wards of the rural municipality Aurahi, siraha. it was estimated that more than 30,000 people and 4,800 households benefited directly. 8000 dengue related poster and pamphlet were distributed. & also, two facilitators carried out awareness program at community and school.
