BIOGRAPHY
Gyanu Gautam is a dedicated public health professional from Nepal with over two years of experience in health services and development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine and a Bachelor’s in Public Health & Master running. Since joining Health Nutrition Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal (HEARD Nepal) in November 2022, Gyanu has played a key role as a Program Coodinator, overseeing health programs in the Biratnagar, Koshi Province. Her work includes coordinating public health initiatives, leading emergency response efforts, and managing programs focused on health and nutrition, child sponsorship Educational Program, non-communicable diseases (NCD), maternal and child health (MNCH), sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and more. As a provincial team leader, Gyanu was instrumental in leading the emergency COVID-19 response, ensuring vital services reached vulnerable populations. She has also contributed to child protection programs, strategic planning, and the development of annual plans to assess the impact of health initiatives. Gyanu's strong coordination skills allow her to effectively collaborate with local, provincial, and federal governments, as well as international donors and development organizations. Her ability to engage with diverse communities and stakeholders, manage day-to-day program operations, and deliver results on time has made her a respected leader. Gyanu's deep understanding of Nepal’s healthcare system, particularly in relation to the government’s response to COVID-19, further strengthens her role in public health interventions. Passionate about community health, Gyanu continues to focus on improving access to essential services such as health insurance and social security, while fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge through workshops and training sessions. Her expertise, leadership, and commitment to public health make her a valuable asset to HEARD Nepal and the communities she serves.
