Dr. Amar Bahadur Shah is a veterinary science graduate from India with a Master’s degree in Agriculture and Rural Development from Australia. He is a highly experienced livelihoods and community development expert with more than twenty-nine years of service in the Government of Nepal.
During his career, he served in several leadership positions including Field Extension Worker, Farm Manager, Chief of the National Livestock Breeding Centre, Regional Director, and Project Director of an Asian Development Bank-funded livelihood improvement project. He retired from civil service as Chief Livestock Development Officer at the Joint Secretary level.
Currently, he serves as Team Leader of the Technical Assistance Service Provider team under the World Bank-funded Nepal Livestock Sector Innovation Project. As a Technical Advisor to HEARD Nepal, he provides expertise in livestock development, agriculture systems, and rural livelihood promotion.
