Rakesh Kumar Yadav is in experienced public health and development expert with over 15 years of experience in designing and leading transformative health programs across a wide range of sectors. His expertise spans health system strengthening, program design, and capacity building, with a particular emphasis on addressing critical health challenges, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Health & Nutrition, SRHR, maternal and child health, gender-based violence, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Holding a degree in General Medicine, a Bachelor of Public Health, and a Master of Public Health (MPH), along with a Master of Arts, Rakesh combines comprehensive clinical expertise with a strategic public health approach. He has led impactful interventions in complex and resource-limited settings. Throughout his career, Rakesh has held key leadership roles with prominent organizations such as the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), UN World Food Programme (WFP), Save the Children, and JSI's NFHP II/USAID, where he spearheaded large-scale health initiatives, often in emergency and humanitarian contexts. Rakesh’s extensive field experience includes managing health system strengthening efforts with the Nepal Health Sector Support Program (NHSSP III), overseeing the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) program as District Nutrition Coordinator for WFP, and contributing to COVID-19 response efforts by enhancing isolation center operations and facilitating cross-border health coordination. He has also played a pivotal role in USAID-funded projects, including the SABAL Project and Jhpiego’s Health for Life (H4L) initiative, where he focused on strengthening health systems for maternal and child health. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to PSI Nepal's women's health initiatives, particularly in remote districts of Nepal. A seasoned program manager, Rakesh is adept at team leadership, strategic planning, and the implementation of comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of health interventions. He possesses advanced expertise in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), a key approach for fostering sustainable health improvements at the community level. Rakesh's collaborative management style, coupled with his ability to coordinate across sectors, facilitates the development of integrated solutions that effectively address the underlying determinants of health and development challenges. Rakesh's expertise extends to working closely with government bodies and local stakeholders at both the provincial and federal levels of Nepal’s evolving health system. Pradip Aryal is a dedicated public health professional with over 8 years of experience in Nepal, specializing in a wide range of public health areas including reproductive health, nutrition, IMAM, maternal and child health, MEAL, GESI, and WASH. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health (BPH) and an MBA. Pradip is deeply committed to human rights, social justice, and alleviating health-related challenges. Currently serving as a Program Manager, Pradip plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of various health programs, ensuring their effectiveness in addressing community health needs. Throughout his career, he has excelled in data collection and analysis, driving the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health initiatives. With strong leadership skills, Pradip has expertise in capacity development, strategic planning, and resource mobilization. Pradip has made significant contributions to health system strengthening and policy drafting, particularly in areas such as safe abortion, family planning, maternal nutrition, and child feeding programs. His work emphasizes collaboration, training, and working with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, businesses, and government agencies. His leadership has made a substantial impact on public health initiatives, especially in underserved communities across Nepal, improving the overall quality of health services and promoting sustainable development.

BIOGRAPHY
Ms. Gyanu Gautam is a committed public health professional from Nepal with over three years of experience in health service delivery, project coordination, and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine, a Bachelor’s in Public Health, and is currently in the final year of her Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), further strengthening her expertise in health systems governance.

She began her journey with HEARD Nepal (Health, Nutrition, Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal) in April 2022 as a Professional Volunteer. Her dedication and strong performance led to her appointment as Program Officer after six months. Recognized for her leadership and program management skills, she was promoted to National Program Coordinator, a role she currently serves with distinction. In her current position, Ms. Gautam leads the planning, implementation, and monitoring of HEARD Nepal’s multi-sectoral programs across all seven provinces. She ensures effective coordination and alignment with the organization’s strategic goals while delivering impactful services to target communities.

Previously based in Biratnagar, Koshi Province, she managed key public health and nutrition programs, including maternal and child health (MNCH), sexual and reproductive health (SRHR), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and education-based child sponsorship. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured uninterrupted essential services to vulnerable populations.

Ms. Gautam has significantly contributed to child protection, strategic planning, and the development of evidence-based annual plans. Her ability to collaborate with government agencies and development partners has strengthened HEARD Nepal’s community-based initiatives.

As National Program Coordinator, she supervises multiple projects and teams, represents HEARD Nepal in coordination with government and donor agencies, and supports proposal development, emergency response, and policy advocacy. Gyanu Gautam’s blend of field expertise, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to inclusive development continues to drive meaningful change for HEARD Nepal and the communities it serves.

Ms. Priya Bishwas is a dedicated Admin/Finance professional currently serving as an Admin/Finance Associate at HEARD Nepal, where she manages both administrative and financial responsibilities, including budgeting, expense tracking, financial documentation, and reporting to ensure transparency and effective financial management. She has actively supported projects addressing important social issues such as menstrual health awareness, early marriage prevention, and abortion awareness programs, where she was responsible for handling program finances and maintaining proper financial records throughout the project period. Being part of initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and community development has been especially meaningful to her. Currently pursuing her Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) at Tribhuvan University, Priya continues to strengthen her academic and professional skills. Mr. Rajendra Prajuli is a skilled and dedicated Admin/Finance and HR Coordinator with a strong foundation in business management and finance. Holding a Master’s degree in Business Studies (MBS), he brings over 10 years of professional experience working with various national and international organizations in Nepal, including Save the Children, ChildFund–Tuki, Karuna Foundation, and Mercy Corps (BHAKARI Project / USAID-funded project).

Throughout his career, Rajendra has built extensive expertise in financial management, administration, and human resources, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with precision.

With hands-on field and office experience, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of financial systems, including accounting, budget management, reporting, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor policies. His experience also covers a wide range of administrative and HR functions, such as office coordination, logistics, documentation, employee record management, and recruitment support.

Originally from Janakpur, Nepal, he brings over five years of professional experience in financial management, administration, and human resources within the development sector. Prior to joining HEARD Nepal, Mr. Manjur worked as an Admin and Finance Officer at Aasaman Nepal, where he supported multiple donor-funded projects, including those funded by USAID, Plan International, Mercy Corps, Captivating International Foundation, VSO, and UNICEF. His responsibilities included budgeting, payroll management, taxation, financial reporting, audit coordination, and ensuring donor compliance. He is proficient in various accounting and financial management software, including TrueBooks, FAMAS, Tally ERP 9, IDS, and Microsoft Navision, and has strong working knowledge of MS Office applications. Known for his analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, he contributes effectively to strengthening financial systems and ensuring accurate and transparent reporting. Nazia Kaushar is a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with HEARD Nepal under the Nutrition for Life (N4L) Project, based in Saptari, Madhesh Province. She is a public health graduate with a strong commitment to building resilient and inclusive communities, particularly for marginalized and hard-to-reach populations. Coming from the Muslim community, she is a dynamic and capable female professional dedicated to advancing equity and improving community health outcomes. Previously, she served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with BNMT Nepal in Surkhet under the Global Fund/UNDP–supported TB program. She began her public health career as a Field Researcher in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) research, gaining firsthand experience working with vulnerable communities. She later worked with BNMT Nepal as a Data Entry Assistant, where she closely engaged with tuberculosis patients and developed a deep understanding of the TB burden among disadvantaged groups. Nazia has also worked as an Adolescent Reproductive Health and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer under a USAID-funded project, collaborating with local governments in rural areas of Madhesh Province and gaining practical experience in health system strengthening. Through her roles, she has developed strong skills in program monitoring, data analysis, risk identification, and systematic data management, contributing to effective and accountable program implementation. These experiences have strengthened her professional dedication to advancing equitable health systems, with a focus on adolescents, reproductive health, and maternal and child health, while reducing stigma and improving access to quality care.
