Mr. Rakesh Kumar Yadav
Founder & Excutive Director
Rakesh Kumar Yadav is in experienced public health and development expert with over 15 years of experience in designing and leading transformative health programs across a wide range of sectors. His expertise spans health system strengthening, program design, and capacity building, with a particular emphasis on addressing critical health challenges, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Health & Nutrition, SRHR, maternal and child health, gender-based violence, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
Holding a degree in General Medicine, a Bachelor of Public Health, and a Master of Public Health (MPH), along with a Master of Arts, Rakesh combines comprehensive clinical expertise with a strategic public health approach. He has led impactful interventions in complex and resource-limited settings. Throughout his career, Rakesh has held key leadership roles with prominent organizations such as the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), UN World Food Programme (WFP), Save the Children, and JSI's NFHP II/USAID, where he spearheaded large-scale health initiatives, often in emergency and humanitarian contexts.
Rakesh’s extensive field experience includes managing health system strengthening efforts with the Nepal Health Sector Support Program (NHSSP III), overseeing the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) program as District Nutrition Coordinator for WFP, and contributing to COVID-19 response efforts by enhancing isolation center operations and facilitating cross-border health coordination. He has also played a pivotal role in USAID-funded projects, including the SABAL Project and Jhpiego’s Health for Life (H4L) initiative, where he focused on strengthening health systems for maternal and child health. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to PSI Nepal's women's health initiatives, particularly in remote districts of Nepal.
A seasoned program manager, Rakesh is adept at team leadership, strategic planning, and the implementation of comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of health interventions. He possesses advanced expertise in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC), a key approach for fostering sustainable health improvements at the community level. Program Manager – Lead

Pradip Aryal is a dedicated public health professional with over 8 years of experience in Nepal, specializing in a wide range of public health areas including reproductive health, nutrition, IMAM, maternal and child health, MEAL, GESI, and WASH. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health (BPH) and an MBA. Pradip is deeply committed to human rights, social justice, and alleviating health-related challenges. Currently serving as a Program Manager, Pradip plays a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation of various health programs, ensuring their effectiveness in addressing community health needs. Throughout his career, he has excelled in data collection and analysis, driving the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health initiatives. With strong leadership skills, Pradip has expertise in capacity development, strategic planning, and resource mobilization. Pradip has made significant contributions to health system strengthening and policy drafting, particularly in areas such as safe abortion, family planning, maternal nutrition, and child feeding programs. His work emphasizes collaboration, training, and working with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, businesses, and government agencies. Ms. Gyanu Gautam
National Program Coordinator

Ms. Gyanu Gautam is a committed public health professional from Nepal with over three years of experience in health service delivery, project coordination, and community development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine, a Bachelor’s in Public Health, and is currently in the final year of her Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), further strengthening her expertise in health systems governance.
She began her journey with HEARD Nepal (Health, Nutrition, Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal) in April 2022 as a Professional Volunteer. Her dedication and strong performance led to her appointment as Program Officer after six months. Recognized for her leadership and program management skills, she was promoted to National Program Coordinator, a role she currently serves with distinction. In her current position, Ms. Gautam leads the planning, implementation, and monitoring of HEARD Nepal’s multi-sectoral programs across all seven provinces. She ensures effective coordination and alignment with the organization’s strategic goals while delivering impactful services to target communities.
Previously based in Biratnagar, Koshi Province, she managed key public health and nutrition programs, including maternal and child health (MNCH), sexual and reproductive health (SRHR), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and education-based child sponsorship. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured uninterrupted essential services to vulnerable populations.
Ms. Gautam has significantly contributed to child protection, strategic planning, and the development of evidence-based annual plans. Her ability to collaborate with government agencies and development partners has strengthened HEARD Nepal’s community-based initiatives.
As National Program Coordinator, she supervises multiple projects and teams, represents HEARD Nepal in coordination with government and donor agencies, and supports proposal development, emergency response, and policy advocacy. Admin, Finance, and HR Coordinator

Mr. Rajendra Prajuli is a skilled and dedicated Admin/Finance and HR Coordinator with a strong foundation in business management and finance. Holding a Master’s degree in Business Studies (MBS), he brings over 10 years of professional experience working with various national and international organizations in Nepal, including Save the Children, ChildFund–Tuki, Karuna Foundation, and Mercy Corps (BHAKARI Project / USAID-funded project).
Throughout his career, Rajendra has built extensive expertise in financial management, administration, and human resources, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with precision.
With hands-on field and office experience, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of financial systems, including accounting, budget management, reporting, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor policies. His experience also covers a wide range of administrative and HR functions, such as office coordination, logistics, documentation, employee record management, and recruitment support.
